q.beyond: Integrated software development gaining momentum – apps receive several awards
- Existing customers extend contract terms and scopes
- Customised software solutions and apps fit seamlessly into SAP and Microsoft environments
- New apps for the public sector underline performance capacity
In addition, new partners such as mgm technology Partners with its A12 low-code platform and the document management specialist d.velop are broadening the range of options available to q.beyond’s team when it comes to developing and operating customised software solutions.
Operations benefit from consulting and development orders
Today, q.beyond offers all IT services relevant to SMEs from a single source: consulting, plus development, plus operations. CEO Thies Rixen explains the resultant benefits in the software business: “q.beyond thinks and acts along integrated lines. Our customised software modules and apps address precisely those areas that are not covered by standard software from SAP and Microsoft. This way, we provide our customers with a competitive edge.” Cooperation in software development often leads in the second stage to operations orders. This exact process was a core goal of the 2025 Strategy. In view of this, q.beyond will continue to step up its sales activities to acquire development and consulting orders.
High performance capacity in software development
Two examples underline q.beyond’s performance capacity in developing software. Based on an open-source platform, an agile team developed an app for the energy company MAINGAU which provides e-car drivers with an overview at all times of the current total of more than half a million charging points across Europe. The developers, UX designers and testers accompanied the project from the first workshop through to release.
The partnership with an operator of technical systems for electronic fare management in local public transport is also capable of further expansion. A team from q.beyond supported this company in developing a copy-protected electronic ticket meeting the highest security standards. This „Mobile Ticketing Crypto Service“ can also be used for other applications, such as entrance checks, and therefore harbours further potential.
Comprehensive software development – from front end to back end
Thies Rixen points to one aspect that these and numerous other projects all have in common: “In developing innovative apps, we combine our software, cloud and security expertise and thus ensure smooth operations from front end through to back end.” This kind of integrated approach was the way forward in software development. By expanding its teams of developers at its German locations, as well as in Latvia and Spain, q.beyond is preparing to benefit even more clearly from this trend in future.
