QSC appoints new press spokeswoman

Cologne, March 5, 2002 - Cologne-based QSC AG today announced the appointment of Claudia Zimmermann, 40, to head the newly-created Press & Communications Department with effect from March 1, 2002. In her new function, Ms. Zimmermann will report directly to the CEO, Dr. Bernd Schlobohm. Her primary initial responsibilities will be to intensify communication between the company management and the interested public, in addition to optimizing internal communication following the rapid expansion of QSC AG. For support in external corporate communication the department employs the Becker + Schreiner Kommunikation agency for general and business press matters and the Pronto agency for the trade press.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Zimmermann worked for eight years at the ThyssenKrupp corporation, where she held a variety of positions, including that of press spokeswoman for the former Thyssen Telecom AG; her most recent position was Director of Press and Public Relations for the Materials and Services division, of which the IT systems supplier Triaton is also a part. After graduating in humanities and before joining ThyssenKrupp, Claudia Zimmermann acquired considerable experience as a freelance journalist for the Rheinische Post and in various PR agencies.
