Monika Görgens joins QSC as new head of Marketing
Cologne, 24 January 2002 - Monika Görgens is the new head of Marketing at QSC AG, Germany's professional provider of DSL broadband infrastructure and high speed Internet services. Ms Görgens comes to the job with 17 years experience in advertising, working on local, international and global projects. In her most recent agency stints - at BMZ!FCA, Young & Rubicam and Michael Conrad & Leo Burnett - she worked for a number of well-known corporations, including Mitsubishi, L'Oreal, AT&T, Colgate, Kraft Jacobs Suchard and Procter & Gamble.
"With her expertise in strategic brand building and management, and experience in domestic and global rollouts, Monika Görgens will be adding a lot of value at QSC," explains QSC Board Chairman and CEO Dr Bernd Schlobohm. Ms Görgens replaces Dr Klaus Langner, who left QSC on 31 December 2001 in order concentrate on his own company, CyberCity GmbH.
Prior to joining QSC, Ms Görgens spearheaded a project for Procter & Gamble, where she developed a CRM unit and incorporated the company's entire product range into an interactive online-offline customer loyalty programme. At QSC, Ms Görgens will primarily focus on strategic brand building and developing a market segment-specific marketing platform for the Q-DSL product family.
QSC AG (QSC) is a professional DSL provider in Germany. This technology makes efficient use of the 'last mile' on the basis of unbundled network access, thus multiplying data traffic speeds by a factor of several times compared with standard subscriber connections. QSC offers its business and residential customers broadband 'always-on' connections to the Internet, with up and downstream data transfer rates beginning up to 2.3 Mbps. The company's broadband network covers the 40 largest cities in Germany and reaches more than 20 million potential users.
Since April 2000, QSC has been listed on the Neuer Markt [QSC] segment of the Frankfurt stock exchange and the New York Nasdaq [QSCG]. The company's IPO increased its equity capital by more than EUR 280 million to over EUR 420 million.
