QSC to supply ADSL2+ infrastructure for the new unbundled DSL offerings from Tiscali
Cologne/Munich, October 11, 2006. QSC AG will be supplying infrastructure for the unbundled, integrated voice-data-offerings from Munich-based Tiscali GmbH. This will enable Tiscali to offer DSL connections with speeds of from 2 Mbit/s to 16 Mbit/s on the basis of ADSL2+ technology, as well as an integrated Voice over IP telephone connection. Tiscali customers will then no longer need a conventional wireline telephone connection. The "Tiscali Surf & Talk" product family, which is based upon QSC infrastructure, will be available in 123 cities.
With Tiscali, QSC has won a further wholesale partner, after debitel, HanseNet, TeleSon and freenet, who will market innovative consumer products that are based upon QSC's nationwide infrastructure. ADSL2+ enables the latest films, for example, as well as documents, programming, computer files and music, to be downloaded at turbofast speeds.
"The key factor in our decision to choose QSC as our ADSL2+ supplier, in addition to the outstanding quality of the QSC network, was the advanced level of automation of the ordering and handling processes," explains Tiscali CEO Carl Mühlner.
The Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Bernd Puschendorf at QSC views the contract as further confirmation of QSC's wholesale strategy: "We are extremely pleased about this further partnership, which once again confirms our competencies in this field." In its wholesale business, QSC is focusing on demand-driven expansion of its DSL network with ADSL2+ technology, on providing custom-tailored upstream products and on handling highly scalable processes.
